I couldn’t remember this ever having been one of my detekti, and seeing as it was published in ’83 for twelve’s and over it seemed unlikely that it had been my sister’s – on the grounds of her not reaching twelve until the following decade.

He spent much of his life in East Germany. Since the mystery of whence and for whom the book was intended seemed unresolvable I seized the book with a determination to read it now, particularly since I probably hadn’t in the eighties.
