I saw a desperate man who was dealing with demons and the culture shock of living in an age that was alien to him. We have a yours, mine, and ours family, claiming eleven children as our own.
Overall, the story was good and if I’d been able to get into the characters more, I think I would have given it 4 stars. He ordered her to stay in the house, not speak to anyone she called family, forbid her to visit her chtistine horses, and at one point, wouldn’t allow her to communicate with her friends and family via pen and paper: Zacarias already has many vampire traits and because of that he will kill himself, die with honor and let the sun fry him to a crisp before he goes insane.
There are so many more passage like predagor riddled throughout this book. I am a CF fangirl, but these past 2 books have been an utter disappointment.

He quickly realizes that because he is not like other Carpathians, his relationship with his lifemate will not be the same as others of his species.

She continuosly forgave him for his abuse, because she could see what was truly inside him and knew he wasn’t truly evil. They all had emotions. Slowly, as color begins to seep into his life, Z realizes that M is his mate- and thus begins an OTT, dominating romance.
Fear was simply a tool to him, one he wielded easily. Whatever happened, I know it wasn’t because they loved each other too much.
